Hi, I’m Emily. I started Emily Baker Creative as a way to merge my love of design strategy, interiors, and hospitality into one practice. For me, design is never just visual—it’s experiential; it’s the feeling of walking into a space that tells a story, evokes a felt sense, and invites people to engage in a specific way.

After studying Design at UC Davis, I spent nearly a decade in San Francisco working as a Marketing Director for a boutique commercial real estate firm, and freelancing for Fortune 500s and startups. I co-founded The Collection Event Studio, a wedding/event industry creative hub, in Sonoma, and served as a Creative Director for luxury weddings and events throughout the Bay Area and Wine Country.

I returned to the Central Coast with my family in 2013 and jumped right back into hospitality, food & beverage. I co-founded a roving wine + supper club called Wine Camp, and freelanced for hospitality brands such as Nomada Hotel Group, The Penny SLO, Campo Bar + Bottle, Sidecar Restaurant + Cocktail Co. to name a few. I dove further into interior design in 2020 as co-founder and Principal Designer of Madre Interior Design, working on residential remodels, new builds, and commercial projects that layered storytelling into physical spaces.

I’m most inspired by projects rooted in food and hospitality—spaces where design becomes a form of welcome. Beyond work, I’m a beach lover, dinner-party host, traveler + foodie, and mother—always chasing that balance of creativity and connection that makes life feel both magical and grounded.
